Female Pleasure: Uncovering the taboos

For centuries, female pleasure, sexuality and health has been mystified, villainised and simply ignored. Formal studies into female pleasure have a long way to go, but women’s stories are here now. Join The Vavengers and friends for an interactive event exploring why female sexuality is still a taboo and the range of ways women experience pleasure.

The evening will be facilitated by sexual healing experts, healthcare professionals, campaigners and survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and explore the many experiences of female pleasure.

Sexual healing practitioners Aisha and Rose will help you feel centred in the space and invite you to tune into these topics using your body. Our panel, Chaired by Florence Nolan of Talking Taboos, and featuring incredible speakers including Sema Gornall, Hoda Ali, and Dr Leyla Hussein OBE, will dive deeper into the social and historical trends around female sexuality with a focus on GBV, share what we can do to remove the taboo, and have space to answer your burning ‘taboo’ questions…

The evening will come to a soft end with time for continuing conversations, connecting and finishing drinks.

The event will explore topics that some may find challenging or triggering, including: Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, Violence Against Women and Girls and abuse. Our wellness ambassadors will be on hand throughout the evening to support you in the space and we encourage you to take any additional steps needed to protect yourself during the event.
